Dear So and So...Jet Lagged
I would like to take this opportunity to warn you that half of these letters may not make sense because I am so jet lagged that my brain isn't functioning at full capacity. I literally just waited a minute before starting the second sentence because that is how long it took my brain to catch up.
Apologies, Kat
--------------------
Dear USAF flight crew from England to USA,
Thanks for being amazingly awesome and accommodating on our flight over here. I can't believe how much nicer it was to fly on a military plane instead of a commercial plane during a transatlantic flight. You have no idea how invaluable you service was to my family. I can't wait until I have the time to write a proper post about the experience.
You Guys Are Amazing, Kat
-------------------
Dear Jet Lag,
You stink. I have spent all day in a complete fog and my brain literally HURTS. I can barely form a thought, my patience is short and my attention span is non existent. It made for some really interesting driving of my mom's new car to say the least. Please be gone tomorrow. I can't handle this for a third day. Wait...will it be 3 days? Crap my days are blending together.
Yeah Just Go Away, Kat (the lady in the fog)
--------------------
Dear Mom,
Don't worry I won't wreck your new car. Well, not intentionally.
Love, Kat
--------------------
Dear People of Wal-Mart,
During my pilgrimage to your mecca of consumerism heaven I couldn't help but notice a good few of you need a bath. A good scrubbing. Maybe with steel wool. Mind you I wasn't looking my best (see letter to jet lag), but at least *I* had an excuse. What was yours?
Regards, Kat
PS- Clothes that actually fit your body and cover up a bit of skin would be the next step after the bath.

Dear Readers (again),
If you have a letter don't forget to link up! Can't wait to see them.

Dear So and So...Summer Time!
On Wed night LaLa had a baseball game and it was so cold that my toes turned blue. Yes, I may have been an idiot for wearing flip flops, but it is the middle of JULY. Frankly, I should be allowed to wear flip flops in JULY and not have my toes turn blue. Can we work on this please? Actually, I don't really care I will be leaving soon for warmer weather.
Wondering Where July Weather Went, Kat
-------------------------
Dear Google +,
I has only been a week and I am addicted. Well played, Google, well played.
Repeatedly Checking For Updates, Kat
-------------------------
Dear People Who Put Me In Circles On G+,
If I don't know straight off who you are you go in my "Don't know who the hell they are" circle. That circle doesn't get many of my updates unless I make them public. If you think you know me better than that, you should send me an email or something telling me who you are. Just sayin'
Slightly Confused, Kat
------------------------
Dear John Lewis,
Your event yesterday was lovely and I really enjoyed myself. Can't wait to do a proper post about it!
Love, Kat
------------------------
Dear House Elves,
You're fired.
Also, The Harry Potter series is over, so you are out of another job. Good luck in this economy.

Dear So and So...Little Ball of Stress
When I tell you to quit horsing around at breakfast time I am serious. I don't know why you are so hyper in the morning, but goodness gracious child my brain can't cope. Please just sit there and eat your breakfast like a mindless zombie like other people in the morning. Or at least wait until I have had a cup of coffee before you kick off.
Love, Your Mother Who Is NOT A Morning Person
----------------------
Dear Brain,
When you give me weird dreams don't expect me not to act on them.
Writing Furiously, Kat
---------------------
Dear Sam Kitty (Ninja Cat),
When I pull into the driveway it is not a good time to run directly *at* the car. You see those big round black things? They're called tires and they will run you down. Mind you I wouldn't run you down on purpose, but running at the car is a bad idea. Bad bad bad bad idea.
Love, The Woman Who Feeds You
PS- You still haven't stopped that moaning meow that we talked about last week. We need to work on that, k?
------------------------
Dear KiKi,
I know you're not really *that* "sick" but we all need mental health days off school. You're lucky I'm a softie.
Love, Mom
------------------------
Dear PTA,
I think next year we need more worker bees and less queen bees if you're getting my drift. I know it is good to have a strong personality, but I think we all need to tone it down a bit and find one or two strong leaders. I think it would cut down on a lot of hurt feelings and miscommunication.
Just a thought, Kat

Dear So and So...It's Gonna Be A Good Day Tater
You are new and lovely and still in your box. Please don't be a pain the the backside to assemble. I really would like to get my grass in the garden cut at some point today. I don't want to be sitting on the pavement in the garden swearing at the top of my lungs at a gigantic hunk of metal. I would like to leisurely assemble you while bird chirp and bunnies hop around me...like a modern day Snow White.
Lets Make it Happen, Kat
----------------------
Dear Sam Kitty (aka. Ninja Cat),
What is up with this loud moaning meow that you have started doing lately. You sound like you are in heat...but your a dude cat who's missing his equipment. It doesn't make sense!! Please stop.
Love, The Lady that Feeds You
----------------------
Dear Elizabeast,
I am so glad that you are feeling better. I didn't think your back/legs were ever going to heal up properly. I was serious looking into a wheelie harness thing for you if you didn't improve or got worse. Now you are well though and that is super great. Well, except for one thing. Can you please quit jumping on my sofas? Thanks in advance.
Love, That Lady Who Feeds You
---------------------
Dear Friends Who Have Done Me Ginormous Favors In the Last Two Weeks,
Debbie, thanks for letting me borrow you lawnmower and watching my dog while I was down in London for the weekend. Seriously, you are worth your weight in gold and I owe you so big.
Kristie, My kids had a blast at your house and are still talking about it. Thank you so so so much. If you EVER need a baby sitter holler at me (Like when you have the movers at your house and you don't want kids under foot).
Sam (not the Kitty) You are awesome and you make a mean cup of tea when I need to have an emotional breakdown (like when people steal my things). Your hubby is also awesome since he cooked me dinner that night. I really cannot thank you guys enough.
I really do have wonderful friends. *sigh*
Love, Kat
-------------------------
Dear Ghost In My House,
Not. Cool. At. All. You just scared the bejebus out of me when you open and closed the cabinet. Stop that mess!! I know you're here. Just take a chill pill.
A Bit Freaked,Kat

Dear Readers,
I know you love me and want to link up today!!! Remember, your Dear So and So letters don't have to be mean they can be nice and lovely too. Sometimes it is nice to thank people. Have a lovely weekend.

Dear So and So...Red Nose Day
Dear Chris Moyles (presenter on Radio 1),
I cannot believe that you and Comedy Dave have been on the radio for well over 50 hours. I am truly impressed. You have already raised over £1.8 for Comic Relief. That is astounding! Well done!!!
A Person With New Found Respect, Kat
----------------
Dear LaLa,
You look adorable in your new glasses. However, you must wear them with the arms of the glasses going underneath your hair and around your ears. When you put them over your hair, it smashes your hair to your head and you kinda look like a dork...and I am saying that as a loving mother. I know you are seven, this is new, and you don't know any better.
Just Don't Want You To Get Made Fun Of, Mom

Dear So and So...Today Is Canceled
It has been a rough week. KiKi was sick on and off all week and then was kind enough to pass it along to me. Therefore, I have declared that today is canceled. You can have today if you like; I am going to lay on the couch and watch Ghost Hunters all day long. I might fold the two baskets of laundry sitting in my kitchen too. I also might do the dishes that are in my sink. Oh who are we kidding? I can't cancel the day, but I sure would like to!
Love the Runny Nosed One, Kat
------------------------------
Dear KiKi,
Thanks for sharing. *cough cough cough*
Love, Mom
------------------------------
Dear LaLa,
Inside voice please. Just cause Mom is sick, doesn't mean she is hard of hearing.
Love, Mom
----------------------------
Dear Hubby,
Yes, I will make your sandwiches for you so that you can have dinner at work, but if you come down with this cold it is your own fault. Consider yourself warned and pray you are immune to this crap.

Dear So and So...Good Morning Pfft!!!
Dear 7am,
I hate you. I hate you with the fire of 1000 suns.
Still Sleepy, Kat
----------------
Dear Alarm Clock,
You and I have a tenuous relationship to say the least. You wake me up in the morning. I cuss you out. You forget to wake me in the morning. I cuss you out. You keep bugging me every five minutes. I cuss you out. Just remember, no matter what I say I am actually grateful that you wake me up and I really hate 7 am more than you.
Sorry for the Foul Language, Kat
-----------------
Dear Weather in My Part of the UK,
Why is everyone else getting snow and I am getting rain? I am starting to think there is some sort of unusual weather phenomenon that is occurring and my part of England is destined to say unsnowed upon. It isn't fair. I want a snow day. See previous letters for the reason why. (I'm looking at you 7am).
Love, Kat
-----------------
Dear KiKi,
If I catch you riding your scooter in the house one more time I am going to give it to the charity shop. Actually, I'm not, idol threat. I will put it on top of the wardrobe and not let you even look at it though! HaHa take that mouthy four year old!
Love, Mom
------------------
Dear LaLa,
If I had known that threatening to not take you roller skating on Friday would get you to actually go to sleep on time and stay in your own bed all night I would have used it a lot sooner. I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out! Well played, La, well played.
Love, Mom
------------------
Dear Readers,
I hope you all had a really Happy New Year. If you however have some gripes about how this year is starting off so far, be sure to write your own Dear So and So letters. If you have already wrote your letters be sure to link up!

Dear So and So...Merry Christmas
I am about to leave my house here in a bit and go get eggs because I of course forgot eggs yesterday while I was at the store. Now, I need you lot to listen to me. There will be no, trolly road rage, elbows being thrown, no fighting over the last thawed out turkey, no smacking of each other with parsnips. You will actually allow me to walk to the eggs; actually if you would pretend you are the Red Sea and that I am Moses I wouldn't complain. Then I will pay for my eggs and be on my way. Sound good to you? Ok good!
Merry Christmas,
Kat
------------------------------------
Dear Children,
I know it is Christmas eve, but would you please calm down just a tad? Mommy just woke up and needs massive amounts of caffeine in her system before she gets functional.

Dear Those in Car Parks,
Yes, I have had many gripes about parking areas in the years past. However, I must point out that if parking is in really close quarters you shouldn't open your door as fast as possible. My poor Jeep does not appreciate the paint transfer.
Just Pointing Out Common Courtesy, Kat

Dear Beast,
You kinda smell like Fritos. Maybe it is time for a bath?
Your Human Mama, Kat

Dear Sam Kitty,
Yes, it really is that cold outside. Yes, that is ice. Sorry for the inconvenience, Your Highness.
Love, That Woman Who Feeds You, Kat
-----------------
Dear LaLa,
As much as I am tickled pink that you are enamoured with math, really, I am, 10pm is not the time to be sneaking in in extra math exercises. You are more than welcome to do math problems when you get home, before school....well, basically anytime other than when you are supposed to be sleeping. Falling asleep in class is counter productive, trust me on this.
Love, Mom
---------------------
Dear Electric Company,
I swear all these lights that are on are not my fault. They are also not the fault of the shorter winter days. They are the fault of my 4 year old daughter who insists upon turning on the lights in every single room she enters. Bill her.

Dear So and So....This One's For LaLa
I understand that what you are wearing used to be a dress, but it shrank in the wash and is now so short that the only way you can wear it is as a shirt. I don't care if you are going to wear tights under it! If you bend over the bottom of the "dress" comes halfway up your bum and there is no way on earth I am letting you out of the house like that! So, go put on a pair of jeans under it and then you may wear it. Sorry, I know you are anti-jeans but it is just too damn bad.
Love, The Woman You Call Mum Who Won't Let You Out of the House Looking Like A Stripper
---------------------
Dear LaLa,
I don't know what your obsession with playing in the bathroom sink is about but you need to stop it. I have little bits of wet toilet paper stuck everywhere like spitballs and it is really ticking me off. Quit.

Dear LaLa,
I am so proud of you! Well done on the class award for Maths. You are so smart!

Dear So and So....Back With a Vengence
Dear Bin Men (garbage men, whatever you want to be called),
You were just having a laugh the other day when you dumped my recycle bin and then just casually placed it smack dab in the middle of my driveway weren't you. You're lucky I was for once paying attention and didn't hit it. Can you imagine the type of wheelie bin carnage that could have ensued? Scenario 1= I hit the bin it flies across the road into the farmers field where I have to then wade through weeds and mud to retrieve the bin. Scenario 2- I hit the bin, it goes into the 50 mph road in front of my house then gets broadsided by a passing car. This could a) destroy my bin b) wreck someones car c) kill those in the car. So, Mr. Bin Men, please put the bins to the side of my driveway and NOT smack in the middle of it from now on. Got it?
Would rather not cause carnage with a wheelie bin, Kat
--------------------------
Dear People Who Park On Double Yellows,
It's illegal, A-hole.
Got it?, Kat
--------------------------
Dear LaLa and KiKi,
Can we please skip the right before we leave out the door for school dramatics. Just put your coat on, grab your book bag and get your little behinds out the door. I don't care if she has your toy, or your book or your blah blah blah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah...Oh wait, what? You started to sound like Charlie Brown's teacher there for a minute. Yeah, I don't care what the other did to you let's go.
Lovingly Yours, Mom

Have a good weekend, Kat

Dear So and So...Anka Edition
--------------------------
Dearest self,
Remember last year's goal: a day without technology a week? Tough one, huh? At least one day a month, and you weren't able to pull it off. You should've try better, I tell you.
Read below to see why.
===
Dear Japanese grammar,
There was a time when we knew each other quite well. I am sorry we lost touch. But now, since my laptop is out of the way, we can spend beautiful afternoons together. And we can bring some new friends, too. Like Spanish, German. Maybe Finnish?
どうですか。
===
Dear friends,
Do come by and visit. When I am not hiding behind a 10" computer screen, I am really a nice person. Witty and talkative. I can catch your jokes and even get involved in some kind of conversation.
Don't you just love the new me?
===
Full list of hobbies,
Be patient. Out of 7 afternoons a week, you'll all get your right turn. Dusting the old guitar and taking out all my cameras for the week. And always having the hook and yarn with me, as addictive as anything else...
Very anxious to make your acquaintance again.
===
Dearest laptop,
Isn't it odd to have me writing these lines just in front of you? Don't be mad... I am coming back every morning for a couple of hours. We do need to set our relationship straight, we should definitely see other people.
Take good care of you.
===
Dearest readers,
Please, don't go on laptop detox just today. Kat is having a short vacation and I am hosting Dear so and so for the week. I wouldn't want her to think I am spoiling her fun meme. Go ahead and join, by linking to your post in the linky gadget below.
Have a great weekend everybody. And do go for a walk, without the laptop...
