I graduate from college at the end of Aug. In my head though, I am already done. My mind is fried. My nerves are shot. Senioritis is abound. Now here is the really shitty part. I am in a GDMF-ing group project. I have seriously never met a bigger group of adult toddlers. Case in point. This morning after my Internet being out for a day I woke up to a nasty exchange between two of my group members on the groups discussion board. The professor had to be brought in to mediate. I called him and informed him of the situation. I felt like I had to tattle tail on two perfectly grown adults. This is my LAST CLASS. I soooo don't need this crap. All is temporarily resolved, but I am sure it will not be pretty in the future either. 4 more weeks is my mantra right now.
In other "I'm Done Already" news... all of a sudden I have had this urge to have another baby. After Kiki I proclaimed "I'm am soooo done with this baby thing". Now, I'm not so sure. She is now 2, potty training, and generally doesn't need me (or want me sometimes). My ovaries are starting to ache and they want a new baby bad. The Man would freak if he knew that I was even considering another child. Maybe I will break him in slowly. Get to England, breach the subject, get off birth control (with his permission of course), then maybe baby. We'll see. I really would like him to have a little boy. Of course we could end up with another girl. Then he might be building a shed in the back yard.

LaLa's Fan Club
My daughter, LaLa has a fan club. There are two little boys across the street and their little sister who are absolutely in love with her. When we pull up into the driveway and get out of the car we hear they yelling "Hey LaLa!!!". I love that she has friends. It is the first time she has had REAL friends, not friends that she has through myself or her dad. These are the first friends she has made on her own. It is really exciting. Now she is a social butterfly of the neighborhood. She has friends that she wants to go play with. The only problem with this is that when she is outside her father or myself has to sit outside to supervise and that is not always possible. When she doesn't get to play because we are too busy to sit outside she throws the biggest hissy fits. Oh well she is 4. She'll live.

Apparently Required Introduction Post :)
So as if I didn't have enough on my plate, I have decided to blog. Oh I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Kat. I am a 27 year old military wife and mother of two. My daughters are "LaLa", 4, and "KiKi", 2. My husband is "the man", since I doubt he actually wants to be part of this blog. Oh well. I also have a dog, Elizabeth (Elizabeast) and a cat, Sam. Right now we live in the middle of nowhere Missouri on an Air Force Base and we are moving to another Air Force Base in England. I am also a full time student at the moment, but I am going to be graduating in about a month with my bachelors degree. *does a little happy dance for everyones enjoyment* I also sell candles at in home "parties" for a little extra income.
In February we found out that our pretty normal life was about to be turned upside down (for the better we hope) by a move overseas. We leave in November and I have been trying to research the area of England that we are moving to like a madwoman. I think I know everything there is to know about their school systems, neighborhoods, etc. that there is to know. Like for example, at school functions they sell alcohol. That would NEVER fly in the states. But how cool is that? I mean really, that has got to take the edge off an otherwise boring, oh my goodness shoot me, parent required event. I digress. Anyway, "the man" and I are really excited about the move. My best friend coincidentally has already moved to this Air Force Base about a year ago, so I (we) will already have a built in support system there when we move. My husband is also best friends with her husband so it is like a twofer. Or is it two-for? Two-fer? My kids are also really excited about the move. LaLa tells everyone she meets that she is moving to England. KiKi is excited because she is two. Everything is exciting when you are two.
A couple of other things about me. I swear. Sometimes a lot. Don't be surprised if one day I drop and F-bomb. Sometimes I really dislike other people's children. Not because they belong to other people, just because they are annoying. I would dislike my own children if they acted the way some of these kids acted. My kids aren't perfect. Sometimes I do want to duct tape them to the walls of my house, but I do love them. My husband can be, difficult, but he is mine. My dog is the biggest cuddlebug in the world and sometimes the only thing in the house who listens to me. Oh and I hate trying to potty train kids.

Bamboo bedroom furniture
One of the first things I think about before purchasing new furniture such as bamboo beds or all natural mattresses is what am I going to do with the furniture I’m replacing. I like to think in terms of how can this furniture I no longer want benefit someone else. There are a couple of ways to do this and it doesn’t necessarily mean breaking it down into its parts.
1.) Donate It. You’d be surprised at how many young families in our day and age are struggling to make ends meet even more seasoned families. Often funds are tight but maybe they have a 30 year old sofa that is on it’s last legs (awful pun intended) and no cash to go out and get something else. If you know of a family by all means offer them your furniture. It gives it a good home and allows someone else to use it which in turn helps to give it new life.
2.) Sell It. If you don’t know anyone you can give your furniture to try selling it in the paper or through online auctions or online resources. Remember, you’re not trying to make a profit on it you’re simply trying to find it a good home and some of that money can be used towards your new furniture.
3.) Recycle It. To me recycling furniture can mean any number of things. My family likes to donate furniture to companies like Goodwill and Salvation Army. They use the proceeds to create jobs and to fund local programs which can really help local communities. Recycling may also mean having a eco-friendly company come that will use the wood and other parts of the furniture to create other things which can then in turn be used again. These services are harder to find in some cities but they are out there.
Once I have figured out a home for my existing furniture I can move forward and plan for my new furniture. Something that interests me is how certain companies approach being green. It may be a manufacturer who takes extra steps to reduce or eliminate harmful waste to the environment. Perhaps it’s a manufacturer who seeks out new ecologically friendly materials to make bamboo beds. Or maybe finding out more about a mattress manufacturer using that same bamboo to make mattress ticking. Some things you can do when looking for new furniture is to find out what these companies are doing to be more green and make good eco decisions based on what you find.http://antique-bedroom-furniture.blogspot.com
Bedroom furniture antique reproduction
There are many different types of antique furniture out there, but if you want really beautiful, well made wooden antique furniture, then you need to look for mahogany. Furniture made of mahogany wood tends to have a stunningly beautiful and majestic appearance. This type of wood isn't only pleasing to the eye, but it is also durable. This is a favorite type of wood for many uses, from boat making to furniture, and also one of the most expensive types of wood because of its relatively rare occurrence, and its undeniable beauty.
Antique mahogany furniture comes mostly from English tradition. Most of the antique mahogany furniture you'll find was made in the 1700s. Not only did it look good, but it would hold up for generations, giving buyers a possession they could hand down through the generations. Antique mahogany furniture tends to be really expensive, so if you love the look but the prices are too high you might want to consider either reproduction furniture, or look in smaller town antique stores. It can be far cheaper to rent a truck and move several cheaper pieces from a small town than it is to buy it in a large city antique store.Japanese bedroom furniture
After a stressful and busy day, wouldn't it be nice to come home to and rest in a quiet and uncluttered bedroom? This feel is what a Japanese bedroom gives. These Zen designs are proven to provide the sense of tranquility and relaxation that you need. Here are some Japanese bedroom designs that you may use for your own bedroom. The first item that is vital in any Japanese bedroom is a low platform bed, which may or may not have a frame. Bed frames are usually slanted or curved. The bed is usually placed in the center of the room or facing a window. Windows are usually big and are left open to allow natural light inside the room.
The keyword for Japanese design is minimalism. There are no frills or unnecessary décor. What you see are clean lines and solid dark colors. The wooden bed, which is usually dark brown or black in color, is accentuated by white linen sheets and some pillows with solid dark colors like rust, red, green or purple. And because Japanese furniture is multi-functional, these beds may also provide additional storage. Pull-out drawers are sometimes placed under the bed.
Because there are not too many furniture inside a Japanese bedroom, each piece is essential. What you often see in the room is a dresser, an armoire or wardrobe, and a nightstand. Sometimes there is a tiny tea table and a chair. If more storage is needed, a "tansu" or chest is placed. These chests are usually made of light wood such as elm, kiri or woven bamboo. What's more, these chests are usually stackable, so as not occupy a lot of space. The furniture also serves a dual purpose. The dresser has drawers for storage purposes. The nightstand also serves as a table.
